Coming soonRPG Naming Wizard
A growing repository of naming conventions and structures for the cultures and subcultures of your tabletop worlds — built to roll, browse, and steal from freely.
Inspired by 'Elven Kingdom of Aérithaéné' By Dave Anhorn
Naming non-human characters is one of the quiet, recurring problems at any RPG table. A culture's names carry its history, its sounds, its values — but inventing dozens of names on the spot that still feel like they belong to the same people is hard to do well.
Each Codex here breaks one culture's names down into their working parts: prefixes, suffixes, house and clan patterns, and the meanings behind them, so you can generate a name in seconds or hand-pick one that means exactly what you want it to.
Open a Codex and roll — each one has its own dice mechanic that mirrors how the naming tables are meant to be used at the table, prefix and suffix rolled in sequence, with the meaning revealed as you go.
Prefer to choose deliberately? Every Codex also includes a builder for assembling a name from meanings you pick yourself, and a searchable index of every syllable in the tables.
Elven and Dwarven are open for rolling; the rest are still on the workbench.
High Elf and Drow naming tables, with prefix-and-suffix roots and both noble and Underdark house names.
